Vision of art
1. Choose a work that represents you, describe it in relation to its format and materiality, its relation with time and space, its style and theme; detail its production process.
I can't choose one; all the works I've shown represent me in some way. They are the result of one idea that goes through decisions defined by acceptances and rejections. When I try to analyze a visual artwork with words I can just pass on a vague idea...the translation modifies senses.
2. In general terms, how would you suggest to approach your work?
I don't suggest any special way to “read” an artwork. I have nothing to say about this. I prefer a first approximation without mediations.
3. In reference to your work and your position in the national and international art fields, what tradition do you recognize yourself in? Who are your contemporary referents? What artists of previous generations are of interest to you?
My position might be with the position of those who work far from the center and with not many spotlights. I feel interested in the work of many artists but in this times I'm thinking in some like Bacle and Candido Lopez, in colonial art, Oski, Molina Campos, Santoro, in Yoel sculptures, Novoa and de Ezquerra, Gisela Bollini objects and sculptures and Canelo's work that soaks our bad rioplatense conscience.
4. Choose works or exhibitions from the last ten or fifteen years which in your opinion were very significant and explain why
Grippo's, Ferrari's and Edgardo Vigo's retrospective exhibitions. The Segui's exhibition in Neuquen, Argentina and the Libero Baadi's work.
