Vision of art
1. Choose a work that represents you, describe it in relation to its format and materiality, its relation with time and space, its style and theme; detail its production process.
The piece is called “Girl with pears” she is made with terracotta, little, no neck., the fruits are glazed by hand with vibrant yellow and her face is totally dull.
2. In general terms, how would you suggest to approach your work?
I don't like suggesting the viewer any attitude type for seeing my work that he can simply get close and see.
3. In reference to your work and your position in the national and international art fields, what tradition do you recognize yourself in? Who are your contemporary referents? What artists of previous generations are of interest to you?
I recognize myself in sculptural tradition, in the materials, the trade, having colleagues in other areas a car panel beater for example, carpenters, restorers. My referents are various: Thomas Schutte, Baselitz's sculpts, Brancussi, Luca della Robia's ceramics colors, Leoncillo's ceramics, Berni, pre Columbine art ,the comics of Charles Burns and Corben.
4. Choose works or exhibitions from the last ten or fifteen years which in your opinion were very significant and explain why
Diana's “Dictionary”, Marina De Caro's ceramics in Alberto Sendros Gallery, Sebastián Gordin's in Telefonica Foundation Space, Norberto Gómez's works, among others.
