Biography
Born in 1976 , Mar del Plata. Lives and works in Buenos Aires.
Graduated in 1998 from the Prilidiano Pueyrredón National School of Fine Arts, she was assistant to Carolina Antoniadis at the Painting chair; at the same time, developed an assistantship in the Department of Clothing and Textile Design of Skific Salzmann. Between 2001 and 2005 studies and lives in Berlin, doing a Master in Arts at the Hochschule der Künste. In 1999-2000, she was awarded with the grant from the Antorchas Foundation and in 2001-2003, with the DAAD scholarship for further studies in Berlin, Germany. She has exhibited at the Spanish Cultural Centre of Buenos Aires, Musée d 'Histoire de la Ville de Luxembourg, Belleza y Felicidad Gallery, 2BO, Bologna; Projektroom Schleifmühlgasse, Vienna; Veteranenstr 20-2, Berlin, Sparwasser, Berlin.
Vision of art
1. Choose a work that represents you, describe it in relation to its format and materiality, its relation with time and space, its style and theme; detail its production process.
The work that I choose is called “maenern Alles was spass macht”, 2001,Berlin.
I defined it as a floor system, sandpaper on wood.
It reproduces the sea–coast relation ship. It is an installation that evokes a scene.
The title of the work was drilled on it, referring to the aesthetics of the signs in Las Vegas.
2. In general terms, how would you suggest to approach your work?
Narrative and directly, as that that is unexpected.
To the point where reality and fiction are displayed on a physical materia.
3. In reference to your work and your position in the national and international art fields, what tradition do you recognize yourself in? Who are your contemporary referents? What artists of previous generations are of interest to you?
Duchamp, the temperature of the material of Joseph Beuys, the electric Rebecca Horn. Berni, Grippo, and Grete Stern.
I am within a tradition that respects the materiality of objects, and that does not try to simulate “a reading”
Influenced by punk culture of the eighties.
Belief = Life.
