Biography
I was born in Buenos Aires and I’m a National School of Fine Arts Prilidiano Pueyrredón graduate, I have a Visual Arts degree from the National Institute of Fine Arts (IUNA), and I’m an accountant from Buenos Aires’ University (UBA) as well. It must be that the reason for which I classify, collect, and add my art pieces, It could be either a professional defect or maybe just vice.
In the year 2008 I participated in the Exchange Grant directed by Patricia Hakim and Valeria González. Since 2005, I have been attending Juan Doffo’s art workshop. I co-directed the art group “Macadamia” with Marta Ares and with this group we organized fairs, actions and exhibitions in 2002 and 2003.
Anselmo Piccoli tought me the grounds of color and composition that guided me in painting techniques. My starting point was next to Luís Barragán. I realized creativity seminaries by Emilio Renart.
After several years of being absent from the art scene, I became absolutely involved with video, and in it, I found my true expression way.
Now a day I do video, objects, artist’s books and photography.

Vision of art
1. Choose a work that represents you, describe it in relation to its format and materiality, its relation with time and space, its style and theme; detail its production process.
“Good Behavior” [t.n.: popular phrase meaning good behaviour]
Everything is related to popular phrases and proverbs, common places we turn to when we can’t think about something ourselves.
This video installation was thought as two videos and two artist’s books.
“Variations on a same topic”
It’s a hand written artist book, with commercial calligraphic hand writing. Following the learning, order and tidiness spirit I respected during my teenager years.
Phrases that men used, use and will use to justify themselves for not returning a women phone call: “I had no signal”, “I had to work extra hours”.
The video takes 7 model men writing the phrases on a blackboard, and in the end, I, as a performer, develop an action ignoring that situation.
In another book “Not everything is color pink” (Not everything is that easy), I respect the same concepts as in the “Variations…” book, but in this, the phrases have to do with the one told in a relationship, such as “We need to talk”, “I need some time”.
Videos have a direct effect on the one seeing it, situation I take advantage of, asking them to send their own phrases through text messages. This are projected in real time in a screen.
In that way, I add the text messages written language to calligraphy.
2. In general terms, how would you suggest to approach your work?
With humor and irony.
3. In reference to your work and your position in the national and international art fields, what tradition do you recognize yourself in? Who are your contemporary referents? What artists of previous generations are of interest to you?
I can’t define me, or make me fit in some category, I’m a very active person and aware on what’s constantly happening and the way that affects my everyday life. I enjoy working in new projects as well as an individual artist as in group. Though some of my topics may seem superficial, I can only get to them after some contemplation. There are many referents to me; maybe some of the closest are Sophie Calle and Ana Mendieta. Other artists that interest me are Joseph Beuys, Louis Bourgeois, Ulises Carrion, Marcel Duchamp, Narda Alvarado, Félix Gonzáles Torres, Alfredo Hlito, Xul Solar, Alberto Greco.
4. Choose works or exhibitions from the last ten or fifteen years which in your opinion were very significant and explain why
Bony, Ferrari and Grippo’s retrospectives.
