Biography
I was born in 1971. I did both individual and collective exhibitions in Argentina, Ecuador, USA and Europe.
I could higlight “Jardín del ego, Ellos” (Ego garden, Them), documentary portraits. It was part of the exhibition for which the Royal Spanish House had commissioned me portraits of the Monarchs, so as to be part of the royal collection. Sensibells, Carne Viva (In Raw Flesh), Pensamientos (Thoughts), at the Andraxt Mallorca artist residency, Posibles origenes de un final desafortunado (Possible origins of a misfortuned ending)
Vision of art
1. Choose a work that represents you, describe it in relation to its format and materiality, its relation with time and space, its style and theme; detail its production process.
Hard to choose one, the documentary portraits, maybe the watercolours, I don’t know. I’m in a very “brut” moment now.
Style, Critic disguised as sensitive beauty.
Taking into consideration the medium, I start with an idea, sensation or feeling that transforms itself depending on the resistance of the material with which I work.
2. In general terms, how would you suggest to approach your work?
No way, depends on the viewer.
3. In reference to your work and your position in the national and international art fields, what tradition do you recognize yourself in? Who are your contemporary referents? What artists of previous generations are of interest to you?
I don’t recognize myself in any tradition. I like Tracey Emin, Duchamp, Marcus Harvey, De la Vega, Pettoruti, Ron Muek, the post-impressionists, expressionists, Madi, Pre-Raphaelites, Dada, Surrealism, Post-Expressionists, Brut-Art. I like everything..
4. Choose works or exhibitions from the last ten or fifteen years which in your opinion were very significant and explain why
Pombo, Ruth Benzacar, Gumier Maier at the Centro Cultural Rojas, Prior, Marcia Schvartz, Cronopios, Erlich, Emiliano Miliyo, Sebastian Gordin, Diego Garvinese, Pablo Suárez, Macchi, Liliana Maresca, Cristina Schiavi, Marcaccio, Kuitka, Max Gómez Canle, Braga Menéndez.
They have all generated, afterwards, a certain tendency in style and theme.
