Biography
I studied at the Escuela de Artes Visuales of Bahía Blanca, where I was born. At age 18 I started being interested in conceptual art and german expressionism. I experimented using what I knew back then of the plastic language. I later on added much of the graphic language. Social messages appear, out of my own observation and personal experiences from the so-called ‘outside world’: the street. I take part in popular events, such as concerts, art exhibitions done in different neighbourhoods and the teaching of art to children. I got in touch with Belleza y Felicidad art gallery and discovered a style of its own, a new path in which I feel accompanied. My artistic situation prospers and commits to a cause: authentic art.
Vision of art
1. Choose a work that represents you, describe it in relation to its format and materiality, its relation with time and space, its style and theme; detail its production process.
A painting made with tempera on cardboard (small size, with what I had at the moment), portraying a boy with a rugsack and a rosary on his neck; I remember that while I was doing it, I felt something that left me and my artiscic and pictorial aspirations quite satisfied. Ah! And it was the first painting sold at a fairly good price (Thanks to Belleza y Felicidad art gallery)
2. In general terms, how would you suggest to approach your work?
Without going deeply into the technique, giving priority to the composition itself, the idea, and the message.
3. In reference to your work and your position in the national and international art fields, what tradition do you recognize yourself in? Who are your contemporary referents? What artists of previous generations are of interest to you?
The artists that take part of Belleza y Felicidad art gallery.
4. Choose works or exhibitions from the last ten or fifteen years which in your opinion were very significant and explain why
Belleza y Felicidad’s exhibitions. Alfredo Prior’s exhibitions. A painting exhibition by Mariela Scafati at Fiorito’s and many many others that I don’t remember now; I like the exhibitions of those artists working with respect, sincerity ans passion, such has Pablo Rosales, Gastón Persico and Leonardo Mercado. And the dadaists, the expressionists, pop artists, new artists and unknown ones, etc.
