Biography
I was born on February 24th, 1982 in the city of Trelew, Chubut and lived there until the year 2000 when I moved to Buenos Aires to study Cinema. I graduated from the C.I.C.institute as T.V and Filmmaker, studied photography at the E.A.F. and had the chance to attend various workshops although I consider it was until 2006 that I met “the art”. I have also accomplished workshops with Fabiana Barreda and nowadays with Valeria Maculan and Silvia Gurfein.
Vision of art
1. Choose a work that represents you, describe it in relation to its format and materiality, its relation with time and space, its style and theme; detail its production process.
I wouldn’t know what work of mine represents me the most since I´m on a process of investigation. If I had to choose one it would be “Family Draft”. I consider it a kind of mother cell for all my other works. It combines subjects of my interest such as the love, the family, the sound, the music, the rootlessness, the loneliness, the pass of time and the belonging to a certain space. It is a work that had a very homey production and that actually came up without knowing that in time, it would become a formal work.
2. In general terms, how would you suggest to approach your work?
I do not know.
3. In reference to your work and your position in the national and international art fields, what tradition do you recognize yourself in? Who are your contemporary referents? What artists of previous generations are of interest to you?
My contemporary references: Hiraki Sawa, Sophie Calle, Tracey Emin and Michel Gondry among others. Artists from other generations: obviously Duchamp and way before in time I am interested on the Romantics, Friedrich and his work “Monk at the sea shore”.
4. Choose works or exhibitions from the last ten or fifteen years which in your opinion were very significant and explain why
I don’t think I happened to see the most significant ones since my contact with the art world is pretty much recent. I could say that in the past two years one of the exhibitions that meant the most to me was the Petrobrás Price of arteBA 2007..
