Biography
I was born in Posadas, Misiones, surrounded by jungle, many bugs and magic stories. Now that I am older, this has become part of my work and art.
I consider myself more as a restless mind than an artist due to the fact that I studied graphic design because I liked to draw. Now that I am a graphic designer, I spend my time watching videos, VJ stuff and electronic music… oh well, I’m always searching and always expressing myself.
The last thing I participated was in the 5th edition of the Mamba Prize 2006 (mention of honour, category multimedia) and in the collective exhibition of the program Argentina Paints Well (Argentina Pinta Bien) Northeast region, art of Misiones, Posadas September 2007.
Vision of art
1. Choose a work that represents you, describe it in relation to its format and materiality, its relation with time and space, its style and theme; detail its production process.
I choose a work of art that is part of the Zoocable (Gregorio) project
http://delacueva.com.ar/zoo%20gregorio.html
It measures about 20 cm high and it’s about to turn 3 years of life.
Materials: telephone cable (http://delacueva.com.ar/zoo%20proyecto.html to watch the process.
2. In general terms, how would you suggest to approach your work?
More than just read what I do, I’d like the spectator to watch, touch, feel, ask, pry, play…Particularly in this project.
3. In reference to your work and your position in the national and international art fields, what tradition do you recognize yourself in? Who are your contemporary referents? What artists of previous generations are of interest to you?
The truth is I yet don’t know to which tradition I belong where I can place myself.
As contemporary referents I consider Boris Hoppek (http://borishoppek.de/bh-blog/) and the people of http://little-people.blogspot.com/, but I yet haven’t found anybody to genuinely relate with or anybody to follow his/her steps.
To what multimedia-video-VJ-electronic music relates: Gustavo Romano, Jorge Haro, the people of Fase Project…..those would be the main ones… but on these matters I discover somebody new every week.
4. Choose works or exhibitions from the last ten or fifteen years which in your opinion were very significant and explain why
I sincerely don’t have a very solid cultural formation in this aspect because I don’t travel frequently to Buenos Aires and the exhibits or things that I can name would be completely unknown or of little significance to you.
Even so, the first time I meet the space of Gustavo Romano and saw his exhibition, it pointed my course a little bit because he works all the tools and means that I’m interested in to express myself.
